First of all, I must say that I am not reponsible for my subject title - that brilliant pun was offered by someone in the audience in response to the band's banter about the Doug songs.
Second of all, in response to the 'poll', I'd certainly attend a concert of all Doug. If Uncle Bonsai's singing it, I'm there.
My friend, whose only exposure to Uncle Bonsai prior to Saturday night was being confused by my 'I Awoke in Iowa' t-shirt,walked away a fan, and said that she loved the Doug songs. She liked how Doug would appear in the lyric when she least expected it. She especially liked 'Doug's Greatest Christmas Ever', and said that she was surprised and glad that Doug made that one last appearance in the show.
Her other comment of note was that it was an 'intense' experience. That is, you really have to pay attention, all the time, to every song, lyrically.
Yes, the women were respectively resplendent, and Andrew was dashing in a new hat. They plowed thru the first set in a fairly business-like manner, but the second sent was a little more relaxed and fun. There was more talk of the unfortunate plane trip via Flint MI that had the entire plane hurling, and lots of Doug discussion.
