The last time Melynda and I came to Seattle, she enjoyed not only the performances but also getting to talk with some of the performers, especially Patrice. We bought Elusive then, and Melynda listened to it on various occasions. She went through a long bipolar episode in February, and that album was one of her comfort ones, played over and over.

Now Melynda's gone, victim of a pulmonary embolism. She lay in a hospice room for ten days, and I brought several comfort CDs that she liked -- I know she was never conscious, but it still seemed like the right thing. Faure's Requiem, an album of songs by Reynaldo Hahn and others, Brahms' Chorale Preludes, -- and Elusive.

I hope I'll be back for more concerts. But, sadly, Melynda won't.

Edward

A nice article about UB, with a brief history, mini review, and an embedded music player with "Anne". Love this quote:

Quoted Text

And if there were an Ella Fitzgerald Award for Exquisite Elocution in Song, they would surely get it.

Okay, my last question for now!!! I PROMISE! Where did the bonus studio recordings on the BOYS WANT SEX IN THE MORNING CD come from? Were they included on the original vinyl or are these bonus tracks to the CD. And the 3rd uncredited recording, "Men and Women", I'm assuming was uncredited deliberately as a hidden EXTRA bonus?

Were these 3 recordings from the LONELY GRAIN sessions or was another studio album started? And WHY was there never another studio release? I know you guys didn't have a label and I'm assuming there was a cost issue, also the fact that your fans knew you so well from live performances. But some of your songs would sound so much better with overdubs and additional instrumentation. I LOVE the LONELY GRAIN album AND these 3 bonus studio recordings. I would love to hear more and am very excited the new release will have a studio album WITH a live album! But, are there anymore old studio recordings that haven't been released?

I hope I haven't overwhelmed everyone with so many questions! I've been purchasing the albums in order, and look forward to hearing the 90's and 21st Century recordings of UB soon! I will definitely be spreading the word about you guys and hopefully you will have more new fans join the fold!

Thanks alot for the many years of great music!

Your newest fan,

Kevin D.
